Dr. David E. Kerley Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Science Education
Dr. David Kerley devoted 34 years to teaching at Eastern Oregon University
LA GRANDE, OR, September 23, 2011 /Science and Research PR News/ -- David E. Kerley, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus at Eastern Oregon University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in science education.
Possessing five decades of professional experience, Dr. Kerley retired after teaching at Eastern Oregon University for 34 years. Throughout his career, he acquired expertise in various areas of science, including physiology, anatomy and vertebrate biology. Attributing his success to his hard work, he was inspired to venture into the education field by his father, who was a professor at the University of Oregon. The most gratifying aspect of his career, Dr. Kerley says, was being able to inspire bright young students.
Dr. Kerley earned a Ph.D. in zoology, with an emphasis in biochemistry and botany, from Oregon State University in 1971. He is a member of Sigma Xi (science research honorary), Phi Sigma (biological research honorary) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Kerley's outstanding work was recognized twice with teaching awards from Eastern Oregon University.
