Roel Flores Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Technical Education
Roel Flores was Named Professional of the Year
HARLINGEN, TX, March 24, 2010 /Science and Research PR News/ --Roel Flores, Master Instructor for Texas State Technical College Harlingen, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in technical education.
With 20 years of experience in education, Roel Flores is a respected expert in training chemical technicians. As master instructor at TSTC, he is responsible for teaching general chemistry, analytical chemistry and elementary chemical engineering, and recruiting students for the chemical environment technology program. An engineer by trade, Mr. Flores finds deep personal fulfillment in sharing what he knows with others. He attributes his success to hard work and dedication.
Mr. Flores received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1975 from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the American Chemical Society. Most recently, he was honored by Cambridge Who's Who as 2009-2010 Professional of the Year in Technical Education. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year.
Away from work, Mr. Flores volunteers as a judge for local science fairs and joins his students on beach clean-ups and tree-planting activities. In five years, he aspires to become the chairman of his department.
