Jessica K. Roberts Inducted in Cambridge Who's Who

Ms. Roberts aspires to work for the National Institutes of Health

    SALT LAKE CITY, UT, December 31, 2010 /Science and Research PR News/ -- Jessica K. Roberts, Graduate Student at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in biochemistry studies.

As a Ph.D. candidate in the pharmacology and toxicology department of the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, Mrs. Roberts has an extensive knowledge in drug metabolism. One year into her post-graduate schooling, she is working on her dissertation, by collecting data, conducting pediatric asthma research and performing experiments. Mrs. Roberts also writes reports, gives presentations to the pharmacology department and completes grant applications to supplement her educational conquests.

She has a completed her first manuscript, "Hydralazine prevents AB fibril formations and modification by lipids in vitro," which has been submitted to the Biochemistry Journal and was accepted for publication in November. Mrs. Roberts is in the midst of writing her second manuscript, on the metabolism of glucocorticoids.

In 2008, she graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. Mrs. Roberts is a member of AAAS, and volunteers her free time to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Looking ahead, she yearns to do postdoctoral work for the National Institutes of Health and eventually pursue a career in the research triangle in North Carolina.
