Gina Burroughs Woodlief Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who

Gina Burroughs Woodlief's passion for laboratory work led her to become the acting chief of a clinical laboratory

    DURHAM, NC, December 10, 2010 /Science and Research PR News/ -- CDR Gina Burroughs Woodlief, Chief of the Clinical Laboratory Testing Labs and the FBOP Medical Referral U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in management administration.

As chief of the Medical Referral Testing Laboratory and an officer in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, CDR Woodlief is responsible for managing a reference laboratory that serves 45 federal prisons or 35 percent of the federal inmate population for all specimens provided. She became involved in her profession because she was always interested in science, and she attributes her success to her hard work, love for working in the lab, and being a competitive, ambitious person.

CDR Woodlief received a Master of Science in business management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business in 1995. In addition to her formal education, she is a CPR and AED instructor. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the Commissioned Officers Association, Reserve Officers Association, Association of Military surgeons of the United States, Military Officers Association of America, and the Society of Armed Forces Medical Laboratory Scientists.
