Joanne Metler Showcases Professional Brand through Cambridge Who's Who

Joanne Metler teaches an array of courses to students studying nuclear medicine

    GLEN ELLYN, IL, October 26, 2010 /Science and Research PR News/ -- Joanne Metler, Coordinator and Professor of Nuclear Medicine Technology at the College of DuPage, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in higher education.

An expert in research and clinical instruction, Ms. Metler has been a professor at the College of DuPage for 19 years. She is responsible for overseeing and advising students of nuclear medicine and 24 clinical affiliations. She organizes clinical education and teaches courses in biology, nuclear medicine technology, positron emission tomography and computed tomography. A former nuclear medicine technologist, Ms. Metler is also the school's radiation safety officer.

She is the recipient of a master's degree in biology from Roosevelt University. She has also earned certifications in nuclear medicine and positron emission tomography. Ms. Metler belongs to the Society of Nuclear Medicine and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. In 2003, she was honored by her college as an outstanding faculty member. In the future, she intends to develop a radiation safety manual for her department, as well as an online manual for law enforcement professionals.

At the College of DuPage's diagnostic medical imaging nuclear medicine program, students learn the skills necessary for producing high-quality diagnostic images. Students are instructed to deliver compassionate patient care, abstract data from patient records, calculate radiopharmaceuticals, operate scanning equipment and perform computer acquisitions.
