DNA Sequencing and Gene Synthesis CRO Announces ¡°GENEWIZ Goes Green¡± Program
In honor of the 40th Earth Day, GENEWIZ, Inc. announced its ¡°GENEWIZ Goes Green¡± program, a series of initiatives to reduce environmental impact and encourage employees to undertake additional, ongoing environmentally friendly projects.

In honor of the 40th Earth Day, GENEWIZ, Inc. announced its ¡°GENEWIZ Goes Green¡± program, a series of initiatives to reduce environmental impact and encourage employees to undertake additional, ongoing environmentally friendly projects. As a reminder to celebrate Earth Day, GENEWIZ¡¯s website will change from blue to ¡°green¡± on April 22, for one week. GENEWIZ is a leading provider of DNA services including DNA sequencing, gene synthesis, molecular biology and genomic services to academic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and government researchers.
¡°Our employees care very much that we exhibit environmental responsibility in all our operations,¡± said Amy Liao, COO and co-founder. ¡°A few years ago, several employees initiated grass-roots programs to make GENEWIZ greener. One-act-at-a-time started to add up, with each program inspiring others. As our scale continues to grow, we see that the green programs have made a big difference in our daily actions.¡±
Some of the projects included in the ¡°GENEWIZ Goes Green¡± program to date are hybrid cars for sales and couriers, biodegradable pens and enviro-friendly tote bags for trade shows, daily recycling of thousands of tip waffle boxes and refilling of tip boxes with pre-loaded tips in the labs, recycling of zip and bubble bags for sample collection, lab coat reuse, changing the meeting culture to project electronic documents instead of printing, providing metal flatware to replace plastic, GENEWIZ stainless tumblers instead of paper cups, recycling plastics, cans, papers, and global IT and facility policies to power down infrastructure and equipment to minimize power consumption.
