Grant received his education at the Institution of Australia. He earned certification in Risk Management and a Diploma in Leadership Scouts. He is also a Justice of the Peace and a Licensed Private Investigator.
He is affiliated with the Risk Management Institute and the Institute of Company Directors. Whitehorn has also earned the titles of MAIDC, MRMA, MBCI and LPIA.
